Our Mission:
The American Red Cross’ mission is to prevent and alleviate human suffering
in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the
generosity of donors.
Our Vision:
The American Red Cross, through its strong network of volunteers, donors and partners, is always there in times of need.
Red Cross supporters provide a beacon of hope. From helping during disasters and ensuring access to lifesaving blood, to providing training to save lives and supporting military communities, the Red Cross is there when help can’t wait.
Our History of the Cascades Region:
For the past 100 years, the American Red Cross Cascades Region has been there for the people of Oregon and Southwest Washington. Since the establishment of our first regional chapter in 1917, the Red Cross has helped millions of people affected by disasters, including home fires, floods and other emergencies. Our disaster responders have deployed quickly to help support the needs of people affected by disasters big and small. From health and safety classes to lifesaving blood collection and support of military members, their families and veterans, the Red Cross is woven into the fabric of our community.
